KS2 Maths (Years 3-4)
Designed for children in Lower KS2, this programme focuses on building strong mathematical foundations, developing confidence, and supporting mastery of key Maths concepts through structured small group teaching. Sessions help children strengthen problem-solving skills and become more secure and independent across the KS2 Maths curriculum.

Building Strong Mathematical Foundations
Our Years 3 & 4 Mathematics Programme is designed to support children as they develop the essential mathematical knowledge and confidence needed for success throughout Key Stage 2. Across the academic year, children build secure understanding through carefully sequenced learning that reinforces classroom teaching while providing opportunities to deepen knowledge and strengthen core skills.
As the curriculum progresses, children revisit and extend key mathematical concepts including place value, calculation, multiplication and division, fractions, measurement, geometry and statistics. Regular reasoning and problem-solving activities encourage children to think critically, explain their methods and apply their learning in a range of contexts.
Whether your child needs additional support, greater challenge or increased confidence, each half-term programme contributes to a wider learning journey that develops fluency, resilience and independence in mathematics.
What Your Child Will Learn
Throughout the academic year, children develop secure mathematical understanding across all areas of the Key Stage 2 curriculum. Learning is carefully sequenced to build confidence and ensure new concepts are fully understood before moving on.

What a Typical Session Looks Like
Every 60-minute lesson follows a consistent structure to maximise learning.
Warm Up (10 minutes)
Quick recall activities to strengthen fluency and revisit previous learning.
Teacher Input (15 minutes)
Clear modelling of the new concept using worked examples and discussion.
Guided Practice (15 minutes)
Children apply new learning with teacher support, receiving immediate feedback.
Independent Challenge (15 minutes)
Children complete carefully selected questions that deepen understanding and develop reasoning.
Review and Reflection (5 minutes)
Key learning points are revisited and children reflect on their progress before the next session.
