KS2 Maths (Year 5)
Designed for Upper KS2 learners, this programme focuses on strengthening mathematical understanding, developing confident reasoning skills, and supporting mastery of key concepts in preparation for the transition to Year 6 and SATs. Through structured small group teaching, children are encouraged to think independently, exp.lain their reasoning, and apply knowledge with accuracy and confidence.

Developing Confidence for
Upper Key Stage 2
Year 5 marks an important stage in children's mathematical development as they encounter increasingly complex concepts and prepare for the expectations of Year 6. Our programme is designed to strengthen existing knowledge while introducing new learning through structured teaching and regular opportunities to revisit and apply key skills.
Throughout the academic year, children develop greater confidence with place value, the four operations, fractions, decimals, percentages, geometry, measurement, statistics and introductory algebra. Lessons place a strong emphasis on mathematical reasoning, efficient methods and problem solving, helping children become increasingly independent and accurate mathematicians.
Each half-term programme builds on previous learning, allowing children to make steady progress while developing the confidence and understanding needed to tackle more challenging mathematical concepts with success.
What Your Child Will Learn
Year 5 introduces increasingly challenging mathematical concepts while strengthening understanding of previously taught skills. Throughout the academic year, children build confidence by applying their knowledge in a wide variety of mathematical contexts.
